Inauguration of new Coworking space in CEEI Héraclès.

By next 14 December, the BIC of Charleroi, CEEI Héraclès will officially inaugurate their new design, modern and inspiring coworking space. The inauguration will be marked by the presence of Jean-Claude Marcourt, Government of the Waloon Region, Minister of Economy, SMEs, External Commerce and New Technologies.

The SWITCH is located within the BIC Héraclès in Charleroi (Belgium).

The old caserne Tresignies (former army barracks) is one of Charleroi’s historical places in the very heart of the city. The site has a large parking area.

The SWITCH takes one of the building’s wings representing over 400 m2 and provides a various premises adapted for individual and collective work:

· Cold Switch: « silent » working space for about 20 individual workstations.

Hot Switch: « collaborative » working space for some twenty people working in small groups.

· Switch Lab: creativity and innovation lab conceived to enhance collective dynamics.

· Switch Train: multimedia training room.

· Switch Bizz: semi-private meeting spaces to meet with partners and clients.

· Switch Pub: kitchen and relaxing place: tee or coffee? Snacks or sushi? It’s up to you...

· Switch Walk: linking gallery, art gallery, reading space … an XXIst century cloister.

These highly functional premises were occupied by young start-ups before being converted into coworking space. A contest was launched to furnish these premises with design, modern and inspiring furniture.

By the end of 2013, the barracks will be progressively renovated and the coworking space should be one of the most modern in Europe.
