Financing emerging market green growth
Plenary discussion panel: Financing emerging market green growth - A new blueprint for action. A distinguished group of business and finance leaders will present their ideas for managing risk and increasing capital flow and propose an improved framework for investing in global green growth. · Moderator: Ravi Chaudhry, Founder & Chairman, CeNext Consulting & Investment · Speakers: Seethapathy Chander, Director General, Regional and Sustainable Development, Asian Development Bank Ashishkumar Chauhan, Chief Executive Officer, Bombay Stock Exchange Jeeva Perumalpillai-Essex, Manager, Sustainable Business Advisory, International Finance Corporation (IFC) Pavan Sukhdev, Study Leader, The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB). In making the transition to a green economy many emerging market governments are revising their approach to national planning and introducing policy-frameworks and investment plans to support clean energy infrastructure, green job creation, clean water and energy access, sustainable agriculture systems and low-carbon development. However with only limited private investment currently available to fund these green growth programmes, innovative financing mechanisms and public-private partnerships will be needed to ensure their long-term success.
